Hyatt Regency Malta is seeking a talented and versatile Chef Tournant to join our culinary team. As a Chef Tournant, you will be responsible for maintaining the highest culinary standards across various kitchen stations, ensuring that all food preparation meets our guests’ expectations for quality and presentation. This role is perfect for a seasoned culinary professional who thrives in a dynamic, high-performance environment.
Responsibilities include but are not limited to:
· Ensuring all food is prepared fresh and to the highest quality standards, adhering strictly to recipes, methods, and instructions from supervisors.
· Maintaining consistency in taste and presentation of all food items, ensuring every dish reflects Hyatt Regency's brand standards.
· Overseeing daily mise en place, preparing certain food items in advance for the following day's duties.
· Monitoring food quality and freshness, managing stock rotation to ensure ingredients are used efficiently and safely.
· Inspecting and cleaning food preparation areas, equipment, and work surfaces to maintain safe and sanitary food-handling practices.
· Regulating equipment temperatures to ensure food is stored and cooked at the correct temperatures.
· Stepping into various roles as needed, assuming responsibilities in the case of absenteeism among team members.
· Coaching and recognizing team members to foster a supportive and high-performing work environment.
· Ensuring that all team members report to work on time, in clean uniforms, and are ready to contribute to the team’s success.
· Addressing any deficiencies professionally and promptly, offering constructive feedback and encouragement to team members.
· Performing other related duties as required to ensure smooth kitchen operations.
