ABOUT THE ROLE
J.K. Place Capri is seeking a passionate, service-driven, and detail-oriented Demi Chef de Rang to join its Food & Beverage team.
Reporting to the Restaurant Manager and Assistant Restaurant Manager and working closely with the Chef de Rang, this role supports the smooth operation of an assigned section and helps deliver an exceptional dining experience through attentive, personalized, and refined service. The Demi Chef de Rang assists with mise en place, order taking, food and beverage service, table maintenance, and coordination between the dining room, kitchen, and bar, while consistently upholding the highest standards of luxury hospitality.
The ideal candidate has previous experience in a luxury restaurant or hotel, sound knowledge of food and beverage service, and a natural ability to anticipate guest needs while engaging with warmth, elegance, and discretion.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Assist the Chef de Rang in managing an assigned section and ensuring courteous, professional, efficient, and attentive service throughout all meal periods.
- Welcome guests warmly, escort them to their tables when required, present menus, and provide attentive and personalized assistance.
- Prepare complete mise en place before service, including table settings, service stations, menus, equipment, and operating supplies.
- Maintain thorough knowledge of menu items, ingredients, allergens, daily specials, wines, spirits, and beverages in order to answer questions and support informed recommendations.
- Take and accurately communicate food and beverage orders, guest preferences, dietary requirements, and special requests to the kitchen and bar teams.
- Serve dishes and beverages in accordance with J.K. Place standards, ensuring correct presentation, timing, sequence, and attention to detail.
- Maintain tables throughout the dining experience by replenishing water and bread, clearing and resetting promptly, and anticipating guest needs.
- Coordinate closely with the Chef de Rang, kitchen, bar and other Food & Beverage colleagues to ensure smooth and timely service.
- Support operations across all Food & Beverage outlets, including the Lounge Terrace and Pool area, according to operational needs.
- Keep tables, service stations, equipment, and surrounding areas clean, organized, stocked, and presented to the highest standard.
- Respond promptly and courteously to guest requests, referring complaints or operational issues to the Chef de Rang, Supervisor, or Manager and supporting appropriate follow-up.
- Assist Commis de Rang and new team members when required, sharing knowledge and contributing to a collaborative service culture.
- Act as an ambassador of J.K. Place values and comply with all health, safety, hygiene, sanitation, and grooming standards.
